What Is Full-Mouth Reconstruction?

In this video, Dr. Karen Becerra Penagos explains when full-mouth reconstruction becomes the right choice, and how patients can restore comfort, function, and confidence with a long-term plan designed for their health and safety.

In some situations, a patient may need a full-mouth reconstruction. This usually happens when all of the teeth have been lost or when the remaining teeth have a poor prognosis and are likely to fail over time. In these cases, we carefully plan a full-mouth treatment to restore function and help the patient eat, speak, and smile comfortably again, using a solution designed to last long term.

Some full-mouth reconstruction cases are performed with IV sedation, which we offer in our office. Before treatment, we make sure each patient is medically stable and has the appropriate medical clearance. Safety is always a priority, and our goal is to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

During the procedure, patients do not feel discomfort. Afterward, some soreness is normal as healing begins. We provide prescriptions and clear instructions to help manage any discomfort at home so recovery is as smooth as possible.
