What If I Don’t Have Enough Bone for a Dental Implant?
In this video, Dr. Karen Becerra-Penagos explains what patients can do when bone is limited, and why smaller implant options can open doors that standard implants sometimes cannot.
When a patient does not have enough bone for a traditional dental implant, bone grafting is often required. This involves adding bone and allowing time for it to fully heal and integrate before a standard implant can be placed.
If bone grafting is not an option or a patient prefers to avoid it, mini dental implants can be a very good alternative. Because mini implants are thinner, they can be placed in areas with less bone width, making them a practical solution for patients with limited bone.
