What If I Don’t Have Enough Bone for a Dental Implant?
In this video, Dr. Karen Bacerra Penagos explains what patients can do when bone is limited, and why smaller implant options can open doors that standard implants sometimes cannot.
When a patient does not have enough bone for a traditional dental implant, bone grafting is often required. This involves adding bone and allowing time for it to fully heal and integrate before a standard implant can be placed.
If bone grafting is not an option or a patient prefers to avoid it, mini dental implants can be a very good alternative. Because mini implants are thinner, they can be placed in areas with less bone width, making them a practical solution for patients with limited bone.
