How Long Will I Need to Wear Clear Aligners?

In this video, Dr. Karen Becerra-Penagos explains how long clear aligner treatment can really take, and how patients can know early if aligners are enough or if braces will be the smarter choice.

When a patient chooses clear aligners, the first step is a detailed analysis. Based on that evaluation, we explain how many aligners we expect to need and what kind of tooth movement we aim to achieve.

Treatment time can vary widely depending on the complexity of the case. In some situations, treatment may take as little as six months. In more complex cases, it can take one to two years, and occasionally longer.

There are cases where traditional braces are a better option, and we will always be upfront if that is the best approach. However, in most situations, clear aligners can achieve the desired results. On average, treatment with aligners typically falls between six months and two years.
