Tipos de Prótesis Dentales con Implantes que Ofrecemos

En este video, la Dra. Myrna Aguilar explica la diferencia entre las dentaduras Fix-on-6 e híbridas fijas, y el factor clínico que determina cuál ofrece mejor estabilidad y comodidad para cada paciente.

En la clínica ofrecemos dos tipos de dentaduras sobre implantes para pacientes que han perdido todos sus dientes, ya sea en el maxilar superior, en la mandíbula o en ambos.

Para el maxilar superior recomendamos al menos seis implantes. A este tratamiento lo llamamos Fix-on-6. Con esta opción, se colocan seis implantes y la dentadura se ajusta con los aditamentos necesarios para que quede fija. Esto ayuda a que no se mueva al comer y brinda mayor seguridad al masticar.

La dentadura Fix-on-6 es una prótesis fija tradicional con estructura de acrílico. Usualmente se recomienda como primera etapa del tratamiento. Si el paciente ya tiene una dentadura que se mueve, en algunos casos se puede usar como prótesis temporal. Así, el mismo día de la colocación de los implantes, el paciente puede irse con su dentadura puesta mientras ocurre el periodo de transición. Una vez que confirmamos que los implantes se integraron correctamente al hueso, se puede fabricar una nueva dentadura con acrílico o avanzar a otra alternativa.

La segunda opción es la dentadura híbrida fija sobre los mismos seis implantes. Esta se fabrica después de que los implantes se han integrado al hueso. Primero se toma un escaneo digital y se diseña una prótesis personalizada que tendrá dientes de porcelana y se adherirá directamente a los implantes.

La dentadura híbrida no lleva acrílico en la zona del paladar ni en el vestíbulo. Esto mejora la comodidad y reduce la retención de alimentos. Los pacientes suelen sentir que mastican y hablan como si tuvieran dientes naturales, sin las molestias que puede causar el acrílico, como la acumulación de comida o la irritación de tejidos.

Si el paciente tiene una dentadura floja, con movimiento al comer o dificultad para masticar, puede acudir a la clínica para una consulta gratuita. En esa visita se evalúa el caso y se determina cuál de las opciones de prótesis sobre implantes es adecuada según las condiciones clínicas y funcionales de cada paciente.
