The Same-Day Crown Process Explained

In this video, Dr. Karen Bacerra Penagos explains how patients can get a permanent crown in one visit, and why same-day technology means fewer appointments and faster answers for your tooth.

When a patient needs a same-day crown, our office has the technology to make that possible. During the appointment, we numb the area, prepare the tooth, and gently shape it to create enough space for the crown.

We then take a digital scan of the tooth and design the crown right away. Because we have an in-house milling machine, the crown is created and finished the same day. The entire appointment typically takes about two hours.

Before you leave, we check the fit and appearance, take X-rays to confirm everything looks correct, and make sure you are comfortable. You go home with your permanent crown in place, and the process is straightforward and easy for most patients.
