Can You Drive After Dental Sedation?
In this video, Dr. Karen Becerra-Penagos explains why sedation requires an extra safety step for patients, and what every person needs in place before a sedated dental procedure.
When we perform procedures that involve sedation, patient safety is our top priority both while you are in our office and after you leave. For that reason, we require patients to bring a driver with them. Sedation can affect your alertness and coordination, and we want to make sure someone is there to get you home safely and help care for you as you recover.
Our goal is to restore your teeth so you can smile, eat, and function comfortably, but safety always comes first. That is why, for any appointment involving sedation, we strongly recommend and require that you have a driver with you.
