Sedation Dentistry Options

In this video, Dr. Karen Becerra-Penagos explains how sedation is evaluated for safety and comfort, and what patients need to know before choosing a sedated dental procedure.

For patients who need sedation, we offer several safe options in our office. We work with a trained specialist who comes to the office to oversee sedation and ensure that everything is done safely and comfortably.

One option is IV sedation, where medication is given through a vein to help you stay deeply relaxed throughout the procedure. This is commonly used for more complex treatments, such as full-mouth cases, to ensure maximum comfort. For less complex procedures, we may recommend conscious sedation, which helps you relax while remaining awake.

Before any sedation is provided, we schedule a consultation to review your health history and make sure the treatment plan is safe and appropriate. Our goal is to deliver care in a way that keeps you comfortable and minimizes any discomfort or stress during your procedure.
